What We Do
The Work We Do:
The charity has been involved in supporting the adult CF Unit at FPH since its inception 20 years ago. Typically, this involves raising money through local events such as our annual Golf Day, donations, and legacies to fund ongoing premises improvements and equipment purchases to support the dedicated Cystic Fibrosis medical and support teams with the aim of making in patient stays as comfortable and effective as possible.
In addition to larger capital projects such as the imminent upgrade to the air conditioning and a major interior refurbishment planned for Spring 2023, the charity funds the dedicated Wi Fi for the unit and the 24/7 snack trolley.
We also provide funding for specific CF training courses and conferences for Medical, Nursing and support staff so that they are kept up to date with the latest scientific developments and are best equipped to care for their patients.
CF Trust Initiative
We are currently considering the provision of emergency grants to give financial support to patients who may be struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. We will communicate progress with this initiative through the website and the CF Unit Staff in the coming weeks.
